Traumatologists at Zakharyin Hospital restored the integrity of a patient’s finger after an injury sustained at home. reports Press service of the Ministry of Health of the Penza region.
A 42-year-old man who lost his finger was taken to a health facility. The patient reported that he tried to cut a piece of wood with a grinder, the tool jumped and cut his thumb. When the injured person was taken to hospital, he managed to dress the wound.
“During the examination at the time of admission, it was found that the severed part of the finger was fixed with a bandage. As a result of the injury, the finger was trapped in a small area of skin up to 1 cm, the blood supply was disrupted,” said Viktor Kokarev, traumatologist-orthopedist of the traumatology department No. 2.
The victim underwent surgery and doctors were able to preserve the integrity of the finger.
