Anuel AA told Pablo Motos about his time in prison: “It’s not portrayed that way in the movies.”

It all happened in 2016 when he was arrested for illegal gun possession and sentenced to 30 months in prison. Commenting on his experience, Anuel said: “First of all, it’s not about how they portray it in the movies and what speaks about you is your walk, the way you walk, how you carry yourself. And yes, money is important everywhere because money makes the world go round, but There are many things above money, and in prison, money is everything”.

Konuk continued: “There are people in prison just like us, people who have made mistakes and are serving time in prison for things in life. God has a different plan, a purpose for all of us, and sometimes most of us do not fit into God’s purpose and we are faced with situations like this. Some of us have to go through these situations in order to be able to react and sometimes God puts us through certain situations so that these wounds can transform us into the warriors we are now.” He also said the following during his time in prison: He spent 90 days in isolation for a very controversial reason.

Anuel explained that he had a mobile phone in prison with which he continued to record music: “I have been recording since I entered prison. I carried and recorded the well-made songs. I recorded ‘I’m infected’“He said the original song was by Eminem and his name was ‘Stan.’ It was a song he dedicated to a fan who went crazy on the song because he was tired and couldn’t see him and he didn’t even say hello once… Crazy. I think everybody remembers that song and when I went to prison I made a Spanish version of it on the phone. And that song took off while I was in prison, when I thought my career was already ruined.”

Moreover, Pablo Motos was wondering what he was doing when he was released after being in prison for so long, and the singer explained: “My father and my son were waiting for me and the first thing I did was hug them. When I went to prison, the feds deliberately disapproved of me seeing my son in order to destroy me psychologically. “I didn’t see my son for 15 months. The first time I saw it was about 16 months later when they transferred him to a prison in Miami and approved it there.”

Finally, the artist said that he thought his career would end with this 30-month prison sentence, but it was the opposite: “When I was imprisoned, I thought they would release me after three or four days, but two days later my lawyer told me they were refusing to release me on bail.. So I called my family and told them what was going on and that I would stay in prison. Even though I suggested the exact opposite in my mind, I distanced myself from people there. I stopped writing and didn’t write for eight or nine months because my soul was dead in terms of writing music, because I thought my career was over.”.

It was then that Anuel commented on what saved him professionally: “As the months went by, many issues arose that I had not brought up, but rather they were leaked on their own and started to go viral. So the working team I had at that time started publishing topics from there. And it was very strange, because sometimes I wouldn’t talk to anyone outside the prison for a month, but there were a lot of things I didn’t know that I learned about by admitting prisoners into the prison. and they told me my subjects were well handled on the street. So, little by little, I started to motivate myself and realize that there was hope.”
