A unique airspace monitoring system (ASMC) has become operational in the Moscow region, capable of detecting both helicopters and aircraft, as well as mini and micro drones at extremely low altitudes. The newspaper writes about this “News”referring to its developers.
As the deputy chief engineer of the development company Central Design Bureau Device Engineering in Tula (part of the High Precision Complexes of the state enterprise Rostec) told the publication, this system is capable of detecting the most complex air targets.
“Making radar visible on a fighter jet or bomber is possible for any manufacturer in the world. We can detect aerial targets such as paper-sized helicopter-type drones. We are guaranteed to detect a helicopter carrying a maximum video camera (e.g. Mavic 2) from a distance of up to 4 km,” said the deputy chief engineer.
The first such systems are already operating in the Moscow region, the company reported.
SKVP is a network of radar stations with fixed phased array antenna. They can be mounted on tripods, on the roofs of tall buildings, on base stations and in vehicles. There can be 24 such stations in the network.
Attack aircraft working in conjunction with air defense or electronic warfare systems will be able to provide them with the opportunity to identify targets in real time.
June 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin statedThat Russia will develop air defense systems to combat Western long-range weapons.
Previously in Russia said On increasing the effectiveness of air defense systems in the face of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
