The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) monitors the developments around the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) on a daily basis. In an interview about this RIA News said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
“We constantly follow the developments day by day,” he said.
IAEA experts have been working at the Zaporizhia NPP since September 1, 2022, following Grossi’s first visit to the facility.
21 May Grossi statedHe noted that the situation at the Zaporozhya nuclear power plant remains worrying and extremely fragile. He emphasized that military activity currently continues around the station. There have been attacks on nuclear power plants using unmanned aerial vehicles. Even one of the reactors was under threat. Therefore, the head of the IAEA described the situation as extremely fragile.
19 May Grossi aforementionedThe IAEA will announce who is responsible for the attacks on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant if it can independently verify the relevant information.
18 May, IAEA President statedHe plans to visit Russia, including Kaliningrad, in May to discuss technical aspects of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
