Scarlett Caitlin Wallen, 21, living in the USA, suffers from a rare disease that causes constant sexual arousal. This was reported by New York Post.
Persistent genital arousal disorder is excessive unwanted stimulation accompanied by increased blood flow to the genitals. At the same time, patients do not feel the desire for sexual activity. Scarlett Wallen began experiencing symptoms at the age of six. She consulted doctors with complaints of constant discomfort and burning in the genital area.
Due to constant agitation, Scarlet began to have mental health problems: she stopped communicating with peers and spent all her free time alone.
The girl was prescribed vestibulectomy (surgical removal of part of the vaginal entrance). However, it turned out that the patient had a congenital developmental anomaly (vaginal septum). It was removed and a partial vestibulectomy was performed a few months later. It was dangerous to remove it completely, as the woman could lose the opportunity for natural sexual arousal. Perhaps the operation will allow the girl to establish a balance between normal life and the disease – this will become clear after the recovery period.
