Roscosmos Director General Yuri Borisov announced that the development of the nuclear power plant that Russia plans to send to the Moon in 2033-2035 for a joint scientific lunar station with China has begun. This has been reported RIA News.
“It has started,” Borisov told the agency in response to a related question.
Before that, the director general of Roscosmos had said that Russia, together with Chinese partners, was considering delivering and installing a nuclear power plant on the lunar surface in 2033-2035.
At the end of April, Rosatom General Director Alexey Likhachev statedthat the company received offers from Roscosmos for nuclear power plants, including on other planets.
Also Rosatom to start testing of equipment for the production of innovative nuclear fuel. The production facility is located in the city of Seversk in the Tomsk region.
Previously Rosatom will create Universal platform for cars.
