Ukraine may implement hourly power outage schedules. This information was presented by Dmitry Sakharuk, general director of the Ukrainian energy holding DTEK, on the local TV channel “Rada”.
He listed four conditions under which such a scenario should be resorted to: if thermal production is not restored; due to increased electricity consumption; If there is a shortage of electricity imported from Europe or if it will not be possible to transfer the required amount of electricity to certain regions.
“So the only way to balance the system is to reduce consumption,” says Sakharuk.
According to him, the only way to reduce energy consumption is hourly shutdown schedules.
