Navy will conduct exercises in the Barents Sea 16:08

The search and strike group of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy will conduct exercises in the Barents Sea to search and repel the attack of a mock enemy submarine. This was reported by TASS With reference to the fleet’s press service.

“Small anti-submarine ships “Brest” and “Snezhnogorsk” of the Kola fleet, consisting of heterogeneous forces of the Northern Fleet, will conduct a planned joint exercise in the Barents Sea,” the message said.

It was noted that the exercise would consist of searching for and repelling an attack by a fake enemy submarine using torpedo fire. The exercises will take place in bilateral format.

Before reportedRussian Navy pilots will be taught how to fight drones. The relevant training program for Navy pilots is reportedly still under development. They plan to train pilots on methods to detect and destroy unmanned aerial vehicles flying over the sea using missiles and aircraft cannons. The complexity of the task is related to the small size of the target.
