Willian John Bampton won a large sum of money in the lottery a few years ago. A few months later, he loaned his daughter $300,000. According to the woman, her father’s reluctance to help her financially was causing disagreements within the family. The man claimed that he had to take such a step and give away some of his earnings.
When his daughter refused to return the money, Willian went to court. After settling the case, the judge sided with the defendant because Bampton was sane and had not been diagnosed with dementia when he made the loan, meaning he was aware of his actions.
Additionally, there was no formal agreement written on paper between father and daughter.
