For the first time, the Russian army shot down a “terrorist balloon” disguised as a probe belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by telegram channel Puree.
According to Mash, Ukrainian soldiers began silently hitting targets using similar balloons.
These “probes” are equipped with a GPS tracking device, control electronics, ballast, an explosive device and a double crown for power, the channel writes.
Their design is similar to weather balloons in order to avoid being hit by artillery and air defense systems. The controllers contain the coordinates of the places where explosives should be thrown.
