A medieval portion of a belt used to hang keys or a purse was found in Kamen-Pomorski, Poland. This was reported by Arkeonews.
The 5.6 cm tall figure is in very good condition and has an anthropomorphic form: It resembles a man with his hands on his hips. Diagonal and horizontal stripes on the torso and thighs may indicate the typical costume of the late Gothic period. Two holes were found in the figure: one in the form of a slot 13 mm long, the second round with a diameter of 4 mm. To date, only 15 artifacts of this type have been discovered in Europe.
Images created in the 15th and 16th centuries show men and women at the time carrying a variety of objects, including knives and cutlery, on their belts.
