A Cambridge University worker managed to escape a locked bathroom using cotton swabs and eyeliner, writes UPI. According to the woman’s statement, she spent approximately seven hours indoors.
Kristina Ilko said she lives in student dormitory. The incident occurred while he was standing in the bathroom. She heard the heavy wooden door begin to close due to the strong wind but had no time to react and found herself locked in the room.
The situation was further complicated by the fact that there was no window in the bathroom and the door latch was broken.
“I was trying to remember how long a person could survive on water alone, and I was hoping I would survive,” Christina recalls.
The woman tried to break the door, knock loudly and call for help, but these methods did not work. Then he remembered his favorite TV series from childhood, where the main character turns everyday objects into special gadgets.
Inspired by the hero of the series, Ilko took a cotton swab, made a hook out of it, and using eyeliner, pressed the lock and broke it.
“I was so happy and so proud that I was able to use my wits to get out,” she added.
