On February 24, the first all-Russian long-distance shooting tournament, dedicated to the memory of the Hero of the Soviet Union Fedor Okhlopkov, ended in Yakutsk. This was reported on the Russian government website.
As noted by the Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative of the Far Eastern Federal District, the chief referee of the tournament, Yuri Trutnev, the Sulus training ground is currently the best in Russia. According to him, the test site is being constructed in such a way that continuous and uninterrupted work can be done at a distance of up to 4 km.
“It seemed right to us not only to organize a precision shooting competition, but also to organize a tournament where a galaxy of legendary snipers grew up,” Trutnev said.
The head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, emphasized that the region honors, respects and will continue the traditions of our great snipers. According to him, the range will be used for the training of all those who are professionally involved in long-distance shooting.
“The emergence of such a training ground in Yakutia will allow us to more actively revive the traditions of our sniper art that has always developed among the Yakut people and, of course, to work more actively in the field of patriotism. education of our youth. Because today we received great support from holding such competitions,” said Nikolaev.
It was noted that the couple with the call signs Ridik and Fizruk won the first place in the “Night” stage of the tournament. In the “Night” stage of the competition, the couple Dmitry Radchenko and Sergey Kirichenko took the second place, while the couple with the call signs Fizruk and Ridik took the third place.
In the “Day” stage, sniper Sergei Yakovlev and spotter Vasily Yakovlev took first place. The second place was taken by sniper Dmitry Radchenko and spotter Sergei Kirichenko, while the third place was taken by a couple with call signs Dobry and Kedr.
As stated on the government’s website, third place winners in two stages were awarded certificates worth 500 thousand rubles. The second place winners were awarded a new all-terrain vehicle “Falcon”. The winners of the competition were given an all-terrain truck as a gift.
