Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky published images showing the country’s military personnel training to fly F-16 warplanes in Denmark. The video was published on the head of state’s personal Telegram channel.
He noted in the video’s caption that all Ukrainian citizens are waiting for the first F-16s to appear in the country’s airspace. According to Zelensky, these fighters are needed to expand the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and strengthen the system of protecting populated areas.
“I am grateful to the F-16 coalition for bringing this day closer (transfer of fighters to Kiev – socialbites.ca), while our pilots and personnel continue their training,” the head of state added.
At the same time, the list of countries participating in the coalition for the supply of F-16s to Ukraine is included at the end of the record. There are a total of 14 countries on the list, including the USA and Denmark.
22 February Danish Ministry of Defense statedIt was stated that the kingdom plans to transfer the first F-16 warplanes to Ukraine this summer. Specific delivery times depend on the results of pilot training and the availability of the necessary infrastructure for the aircraft in Ukraine.
