The incident took place in the city of Bezhetsk. A 38-year-old local resident appealed to law enforcement agencies: the woman wrote a statement that her washing machine, worth 10 thousand rubles, was stolen. According to the applicant, shortly before the theft, he had placed the equipment on the landing because his flat was being renovated.
After a while, detectives detained a suspect involved in the theft. It turned out that he was a 59-year-old local resident who was unemployed and had previous convictions. The man admitted that he had taken the equipment and stole it with the intention of selling it. He walked to the entrance, loaded the car onto a sled and took it home.
The suspect was detained and is being held in a temporary detention centre.
