Two young climbers fell from a height of 20 meters in Calp

Two climbers, aged 18 and 20, suffered a devastating fall while climbing a wall in Morro de Toix, Calif., this morning. They fell from a height of 20 meters. Their heads, shoulders and necks were hit during the fall. One of them lost consciousness for a moment.. They got stuck on a rock.

The rescue group of the Alicante fire consortium arrived with the Alpha 01 helicopter, and two firefighters in Benissa park reached the climber by road. The rescue group’s medical officer provided first emergency medical attention to the two injured people. Rescuers immobilized them. They were taken to the SAMU ambulance on a stretcher.

One of the climbers was taken by medical helicopter from the Ministry of Health to Vila Joiosa hospital. The other was taken to Dénia hospital by SAMU ambulance. The Red Cross Basic Life Support unit also responded to the incident.

The rescue took place in Maryvilla urbanizationLocated on the slopes of Morro de Toix. The warning was made at 10.43am.
