A bill on attracting private capital to Russian science will be submitted to the State Duma for consideration in the near future. This was announced by Sergei Kabyshev (“Fair Russia – For Truth”), Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education.
According to parliamentarians, the main problem of science in the Russian Federation is insufficient funding; The country ranks 35th in this indicator. Kabyshev emphasized that Russia cannot achieve a scientific and technological breakthrough without reaching a level of financing comparable to leading countries.
He proposed that in the near future a bill on attracting private capital to the field of science be submitted to the State Duma “with all possible preferences.” The MP noted the importance of “patriotic mobilization of science in Russia.”
“Scientists are leaving, but they need to feel a sense of trust,” Kabyshev said.
