The operational-tactical and army aviation of Russia managed to hit more than 60 areas of concentration of the troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU). This was reported by Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to him, the control center and radar station of the Buk-M1 air defense system were also hit.
“Operational-tactical and army aviation struck: a command post, a radar station of the Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system in the Lisichansk region of the Luhansk People’s Republic, as well as a concentration area of ​​63 manpower and military equipment. Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Konashenkov explained.
According to the Ministry of Defense, more than 120 Ukrainian soldiers, two tanks and 11 vehicles were destroyed in the airstrikes.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics.
