A simple way to assess the severity of snoring has been found Journal of Sleep Research: sweat analysis allows you to assess the severity of apnea 01:46

Scientists from the University of Cordoba have proven that sweat analysis can determine the severity of apnea, a disease caused by the cessation of breathing during sleep. The results were published in the journal Journal of Sleep Research.

Obstructive sleep apnea is a condition that occurs when breathing stops during sleep and is often accompanied by snoring. In addition to feelings of fatigue and lack of sleep, sleep apnea also increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Previous studies have shown that changes in metabolism can be detected in the blood or urine in people with sleep apnea. In the new study, scientists detected differences in the composition of sweat in people with different degrees of severity of this disease. The resulting data was used to estimate the number of times per night oxygen saturation decreased by more than 3%. Scientists have also shown that with apnea in humans, energy production in cells is impaired and oxidative stress (the degree of damage to cells from reactive oxygen species) increases.

Sweat is easier to collect and analyze than blood and urine; Therefore, the method developed by scientists may be a valuable way to determine the severity of apnea and recommend effective treatment.

Previous scientists I learnedthat the physical impossibility of burping can ruin a person’s personal relationships.
