The jury of the architectural competition for the modernization of the “Road of Life” in the Leningrad region selected a team of Mining University students as the winner. The press service of the governor and government of the Leningrad region reported that the concept of modernization of the facility will be implemented according to the project of young architects.
The jury members appreciated the architects’ focus on the improvement and modernization of existing monuments and attractions, as well as the branding of transport and tourism infrastructure elements.
Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko described it as symbolic that the results of the competition were summarized on the day of the start of the work on the “Road of Life” and the ice rink.
“All participants took a very responsible approach to promoting the public project. We are now one step closer to renovating the memorial complex. I hope that this work will be carried out under the same close attention of social activists in the Leningrad region as the competition was held. “And as a result, we will have a modern monument complex that meets all the requirements of the age and will serve the most important purpose, namely the preservation of historical memory,” said the head of the region.
State Duma Deputy Olga Zanko thanked each participant of the architectural competition, emphasizing that young people today not only value the history of their country, but are also ready to spend their time and energy to preserve historical memory and pass it on to future generations.
“It is important to attract young experts to such projects. New ideas, new views, non-standard working approaches are very important to us. “And this is not the first time the Leningrad region has implemented such a practice,” he said.
Let us remind you that in September a competition for the modernization of the “Road of Life” was announced in the Leningrad region. The initiative to carry out such a study on the 80th anniversary of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad was made by activists of the Vsevolozhsk region, and the project was supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
To develop the concept, teams and creative teams from higher education institutions in Russia were invited. As a result, 10 Russian universities participated in the competition.
November 22, St. It marks the start of the “Road of Life” in St. Petersburg.
