EU countries increased ammunition production by 30 percent in 2023. This was reported by TASS Referring to European Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton.
“We have significantly increased munitions production by 30% since February 2023, so we will reach our target of producing 1 million shells per year,” Breton said as he arrived at a meeting of EU defense ministers.
At the same time, the politician did not give guarantees on behalf of the European Union that Ukraine would receive the promised 1 million ammunition within a year. Breton said that it is the duty of each EU country to focus production on supplies to Ukraine and that the European Commission is only contributing to increasing production capacity.
