An undiscovered monster may be living in one of Russian reservoirs 16:49

An undiscovered monster may be living in Labynkyr, the Ruby Lake. Maria Semenova, deputy coordinator of the all-Russian public research association “Cosmopoisk”, which studies anomalous phenomena, told socialbites.ca. He noted that the monster ate the researchers’ dog during the organization’s first expedition to the lake in 1999.

“We believe that Labynkyr may indeed be home to a large predator hitherto unknown to science. Or maybe a famous one, but reaching gigantic sizes. Vadim Chernobrov (founder of Kosmopoisk – socialbites.ca) In the late autumn of 1999, almost in winter, Labynkyr’ went to. The goal was to observe the frozen lake and find a wormwood (area of clear water in the floating ice fields of the lake. – socialbites.ca), since this lake monster cannot stay under water constantly, it had to come up to breathe. The goal is to protect this hole with cameras and at least was to photograph this monster. However, unexpectedly, it turned out that all the other lakes were already frozen, but Labynkyr was not frozen. It is not very clear whether it freezes at all or whether it freezes much later than other lakes, but it was not possible to wait for it to freeze that time. The lake is the largest ; in its unfrozen state, you can run along the shore in the hope of seeing this monster forever. One night, a monster crawled from the lake to the shore and swallowed a dog that had gone on an expedition and was sleeping outside (not in a tent). The next morning Vadim saw footprints leading (creeping) towards the lake. “By the way, the dog reacted very nervously to this lake during the day and categorically refused to approach the water,” he said.

According to Semenova, the inaccessibility and features of the reservoir protect the monster from people. Each year the creature increased in size, she noted.

“When Vadim was preparing for the expedition and studying the legends, he included the following description of the size: A traditional local raft of ten logs would fit between the eyes of this monster! And the imagination of the middle zone resident immediately draws a huge creature according to the size of our trees. However, in Yakutia, due to the climate, the trees are small, dwarf, perhaps as thick as an arm. Therefore, of course, when we saw the size of the “traditional local raft” with our own eyes, the size of the beast was greatly reduced. It’s still huge, but it doesn’t look so incredible anymore. Especially compared to the size of the huge local fish. In our opinion, the Labynkyr demon is most likely the real-life lake monster. But the inaccessibility and features of the lake (non-freezing, possible presence of underwater caves) are the best protection of the beast from people. And it has no other natural enemies there. Therefore, it grows every year and is still waiting patiently for its researchers,” he said.

Semyonova explained that local residents tried not to go to the lake, but treated the monster “calmly”. He emphasized that it is difficult to conduct research here due to the climate and remoteness of the reservoir.

“Local people have legends about the devil living in Labynkyr for centuries, and they do not fish in this lake. They usually choose not to go there again. Therefore, here you can definitely not suspect that the locals are making up stories for tourists or for some other benefit. They were very surprised that the expedition from Moscow came specifically for the beast. They treat him very calmly, say that he lives and lives: he lives in the lake, we fish in other lakes and everyone is fine. “Labynkyr is a very interesting place and requires further research, but due to its inaccessibility it is still a cold pole, very few expeditions are made there,” he concluded.

Labynkyr Lake is located in the Oymyakon region of eastern Yakutia. Local residents are sure that the lake monster Labynkyr demon lives in the reservoir. Cryptozoologists have put forward various hypotheses regarding the nature of the “devil”: a giant pike, a relic reptile or an amphibian.

On November 12, 1933, the first photograph of the Loch Ness Monster, taken by Scotsman Hugh Gray, appeared. The photo sparked public debate about whether the unknown creature actually lived in the lake.
