Hungarian TV presenter Zsolt Jesenski said that the administration of the YouTube video hosting site blocked one of the recordings with a Russian diplomat on his channel. The journalist’s words were quoted RIA News.
He noted that we are talking about the broadcast of a program with the participation of Tigran Gharibyan, Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Hungary. A representative from Moscow participated in a program broadcast on HirTV at the beginning of November.
As Jesenski said, he was the host of the program. At the same time, guests in the studio discussed, among other topics, the special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine.
“I uploaded a post to my channel last night and it was blocked this afternoon. The official justification is that inciting hatred towards protected groups is not allowed on the channel,” the journalist explained.
At the same time, he emphasized that the participants in the program were not trying to incite hatred against Ukrainian citizens. Moreover, Garibyan called them “brotherly backgammon” and did not allow any insults towards foreigners.
Yesenski added that YouTube management considered a section of the program on the reasons for the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict in February 2022 as a “violation”. According to the TV presenter, blocking on this platform is no longer surprising and occurs regularly.
“Someone reported this, they don’t want the second person at the Russian embassy to speak openly.” <...> “It’s your opinion,” he said.
Eventually, the Hungarian journalist realized that he was also broadcasting episodes of his television programs on another platform. Jesenski concluded that, unlike YouTube representatives, its administrators “only censor actual hate speech.”
Previously in Moldova announced Blocking of more than 20 Russian media.
