A difficult year is expected in Russia in terms of the number of ARVI cases 04:21

Infectious diseases doctor Evgeny Timakov stated that he believes that the number of acute respiratory viral infections in Russia will increase due to the isolation period and weak immunity after the coronavirus epidemic. TASS.

“It will be a very difficult year for ARVI, because after isolation you and I did not receive immunity training – this is the first thing. Secondly, our immunity is reduced due to coronavirus infection, which changes our immune response and partially erases the immune memory of another virus,” said Timakov.

The infectious diseases specialist believes that the number of acute respiratory viral infections in Russia will increase, but the course of the disease will be easier, without mass hospitalizations and complications such as pneumonia.
