SpaceX owner Elon Musk said that the flight of the Starship spacecraft to Mars could take place in three to four years. He announced this at the session of the 74th International Astronautical Congress in Baku. Reuters.
“I think it is possible to achieve an uncrewed test landing on the surface of Mars within the next four years,” he said.
Previously NASA Ingenuity helicopter hit Flight altitude record on Mars. The plane rose 20 meters on its 59th flight.
Researchers stated that the rotorcraft remained in the air for 142.59 seconds. The previous maximum altitude reached by Ingenuity was 18 meters.
In February 2021, Ingenuity touched down with NASA’s Preservation rover at the floor of the 45-km-wide Jezero Crater, which long ago hosted a large lake and river delta.
The conservation mission was designed to search for signs of ancient Martian life.
