The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense denies the information spread in the Armenian part of social networks about the bombing of the city of Stepanakert by the Azerbaijani army from the Grad MLRS. This was reported by RIA News.
The ministry said the information “concerning the alleged bombing” of Stepanakert was completely false.
“We categorically reject this disseminated information,” the ministry said.
Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense reported on September 19 that Baku had initiated “local anti-terrorism measures” to restore constitutional order in Karabakh. Armenian military facilities in the region were identified as targets. The Ministry noted that Baku uses high-precision weapons for this purpose.
Yerevan said that there were no Armenian troops in Karabakh and evaluated the events as an attack.
The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously called on the parties to the conflict in Karabakh to immediately cease fire and continue negotiations.
