Ukrainian parliamentarian Sergei Grivko announced on his social network page a bill registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which provides for a reduction in prison sentences for prisoners by generating electricity using bicycle generators.
According to the MP, his “creative” bill is to encourage 50 thousand Ukrainian prisoners to produce electricity using bicycle production facilities. Thus, prisoners will be able to reduce their sentences by 30 days every year.
Grivko believes that the bill will show Ukrainian society “alternative ways to replenish the country’s energy system” and recommends using gyms for these purposes.
Oleg Soskin, who was previously an advisor to former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, warnedIf the conflict between Moscow and Kiev does not end in the near future, a number of major Ukrainian cities will risk completely losing their light and heat, he said.
