CEV heads to Brussels to gain influence on community institutions

The CEV president and vice presidents will travel to Brussels next Monday for a corporate visit. As President Salvador Navarro noted today at his meeting with members of the Confederation executive committee, the visit is, Strengthening the relationship between the productive fabric of the Valencian Community and its representatives in European institutionsand to transfer the perspective and issues that most concern the Group’s companies and sectors to the Union’s Public Administration.

As the CEV president stated, “As we have stated before, when the CEV Brussels office opens, we believe it is necessary to get closer to European institutions and that Europe is doing the same with this Community”.

Gaining influence in Brussels is one of CEV’s strategic goals “For the next four years and this is exactly what this mission demands, Europe not only listens to our challenges and problems, but also takes them into account in the design of its policies.”

The agenda includes a meeting with Cristina Lobillo on Monday. Director of energy policy at the General Directorate of Energy (DG Energy) and another with María Martín Prat, deputy general manager of the General Directorate of Trade (DG Trade).

A meeting will be held on Tuesday with Bernard Van Goethem and Dorothée André, the heads of the European Commission for Phytosanitary and Crisis Management in Food, Plants and Animals. They will then meet with BusinessEurope General Secretary Markus Beyrer; With Raúl Fuentes, Permanent Ambassador of Spain to the EU, and the program in the European Parliament ITRE (Industry, Research and Energy) ENVI (Environment, Public Health and Food Health), TRAN (Transport and Tourism), AGRI (Agriculture and Rural Development) , EMPL (Employment and Social Affairs) and Valencia MEPs.

Introduction of Gigafactory

On the other hand, Navarro announced that CEV will hold a conference on June 3 where SEAT will meet with Confederate companies to present the Volkswagen battery gigafactory project, as well as to outline the supplier ecosystem. Alfonso Sancha, Executive Vice President of Purchasing at SEAT, SA will be responsible for presenting the plan. The event will be closed by Generalitat President Ximo Puig. Registration is required to attend the meeting, which is open to Valencia Community companies and sectors.

Establishment of Alicante Port Authority

Finally, the CEV chairman called the June 16 general assembly meeting. In this, the activity report and accounts of the organization will be approved. The board of directors approved the inclusion of five new associates on its behalf. Attribution base grows with participation of Eurovaloraciones, SA(EUROVAL); Alicante Port Authority; SanLucar Fruit, SLU and Consultora Marketing Pinchaaqui, SL as directly related companies and Francisco Pallás Sanchís as associate member.
