The head of Russia’s interdepartmental coordination headquarters for the humanitarian response in Ukraine, Mikhail Mizintsev, said that the Russian armed forces will open a humanitarian corridor towards the Black Sea on Wednesday (May 25th) for foreign ships to leave the port of Mariupol safely. “As of 08:00 Moscow time on May 25, a humanitarian corridor 115 miles long and 2 miles wide is being organized in the direction of the Black Sea for the safe exit of foreign ships from the port of Mariupol,” he said.
According to Mizintsev, the danger of mines in the water zone of the port of Mariupol has been eliminated and the port infrastructure is currently being restored.
