Most Russians put up with their loved ones after their quarrel over the repair. This is the conclusion of analysts from the Rambler & Co media conglomerate and the Repair with SberServices service, who interviewed more than 125,000 respondents from all regions of the country to find out with whom the Russians were arguing about repairs and how they endured. . The study was carried out in August 2023.
According to the survey, almost half (43%) of the participants made the repairs themselves. At the same time, 28% of respondents indicated that they received some help from a spouse, friend or relative. Of those surveyed, 21% did all the repair work with their loved ones, and 8% never did.
In addition, analysts reported that 35% of Russians had argued with relatives and friends about repairs, and 65% of respondents had never encountered such conflicts. Therefore, more than half of the participants (63%) argue mostly with their spouses. 26% of the respondents had conflicts with their relatives, 6% with their friends and 5% with their neighbors.
Survey results show that the main reason for controversy is spending too much time on repairs (24%). 20% of respondents did not agree on the style of the interior. 14% each complained of dust and dirt, as well as differing views on the choice of building materials. 14% of them argued because of the result they did not like. 9% of those surveyed cited a lack of budget as the main cause of the conflict. Interestingly, only 5% said they began to doubt the need for repairs in the process.
The study also notes that 88% of respondents managed to resolve the discussion. However, 8% agreed that they stopped talking to each other after the conflict, and 4% agreed that they had to redo the repair to fix the problem.
However, not everyone believes that working together leads to disagreements. The majority of respondents (67%) are sure that the cause of conflicts is not in the repair, but in the character of the people. However, 19% blame the repair, while 14% believe it did not lead to a fight.
In addition, the participants presented several options for resolving disputes during the repair. Therefore, 36% of respondents believe it is necessary to ensure that everyone sees the result in the same way in advance. Almost a quarter (24%) of respondents are confident that controversial issues should be discussed in advance, and 17% make a clear plan of all work first.
