In many countries, gastric reduction is performed at a BMI of 35 kg/m2.2nd and even less. However, it should be borne in mind that surgery is an extreme measure. You should resort to it after making sure that other methods of dealing with excess weight – diets, exercise and special prescription drugs aimed at losing weight are ineffective.
