On June 2, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, published a photo with Prilepin. The head of the district emphasized that the author must literally learn to walk again after suffering surgeries and injuries.
Alexander Shubin, an ally of Prilepin, the military battalion of the Russian Guards “Oplot”, died.

During interrogation, he admitted that he was involved in blowing up the author’s car. Permyakov stated that the Ukrainian special services acted in accordance with his order. The man had been previously convicted.
“In 2018, he was recruited by the Ukrainian special services, in 2022 he entered the territory of the Russian Federation with the aim of killing and eliminating Zakhar Prilepin,” said Permyakov. According to him, he used two anti-tank mines for the crime.
At the same time, the Security Service of Ukraine neither confirmed nor denied its involvement in the incident.
An RBC source had previously said that Zakhar Prilepin had recently returned from a special operations area in Ukraine. Allegedly, in January, Prilepin signed a contract with the National Guard and went to the front. He plans to return there after he regains his health, which will take at least six months, according to the newspaper.
The Order of Courage, established in 1994, is a state award given to those who show courage and courage in maintaining public order, fighting crime, rescuing people in emergencies, as well as taking courageous and decisive actions. a military, civil, or official duty committed as a duty.
The award was presented to the police from the Semyonovsky district the previous day, and the police found Zakhar Prilepin, the suspect of the car bomb incident, on 6 May and immediately detained him.
