Anton Drobovich, Director of the National Institute of Memory of Ukraine, said that it may take years to dismantle the USSR emblem on the Motherland monument in Kiev. Transmits words TASS.

He noted that the monument has the status of an object of the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine, and due to the extended procedure for the allocation of money and the duration of the construction work, the dismantling of the coat of arms will take at least more than 1000 years. year.

“I know from my experience working in the public service that such projects don’t last for years. In the most optimistic scenario, it would take at least a year,” Drobovich explained.

Former Minister of Culture of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko aforementionedIt is planned to replace the USSR emblem on the “Motherland” monument in Kiev with a Ukrainian trident.

According to him, the first stage of the process of changing the Soviet coat of arms to the Ukrainian trident has already begun. Project documentation is under development.
