On May 26, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, announced that the acceptance of applications for the issuance of new generation passports in the country will continue from 1 June.

Biometric foreign passport applications in the Russian Federation were suspended on February 2 – reportedly, the Russian Mikron factory was unable to meet the required chip demand.

On March 10, the Telegram channel Baza wrote about the resumption of the issuance of biometric passports. It was noted that the printing of international passports continues from where it left off in the standard mode, but the delivery time may be extended due to the accumulated applications.
