Three people were detained in criminal cases initiated over the facts of mass fires in which eight people died in a number of cities and districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Regional Investigative Committee reported.
According to the investigation, on May 7, dry grass caught fire due to a short circuit in electrical wiring and a breeze on power lines, and from a strong wind the fire spread to 60 settlements of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. According to preliminary data, 827 buildings, including 518 residences and 9 social institutions, were destroyed in the fires, and 8 people lost their lives.
“Criminal cases are initiated for offenses in Part 3 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence, negligence resulting in the death of two or more people), part 1, part 3 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence – 4 parts), part 2 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (the performance of work or the provision of services that do not meet the life and health requirements of consumers), ”said the statement.
Two women and a man died in the village of Talazhanka, a man and a woman in the village of Nikolsk, a woman in the town of Zaozerny, and two more women in the villages of Ashpatsk and Kurai.
