On May 17, pro-government Armenian media reported that members of the Sons’ Call movement tried to kidnap Ashot Pashinyan. According to them, a 23-year-old boy was put in a car, but he managed to jump out of the car. He was wounded in the leg and the kidnappers fled. People’s activists believe that Pashinyan Jr. got in the car himself at the request of Gayane Hakobyan, the mother of one of the soldiers killed in the Second Karabakh War. He is now accused of organizing the kidnapping.

According to the information given by Hakobyan’s lawyer, whom the police kept in custody for hours, his health condition worsened. Therefore, he was taken to the medical center by ambulance accompanied by the police.
