State Duma deputy, first deputy chairman of the control committee, member of the United Russia faction Mikhail Romanov participated in the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in honor of the heroic act of medical workers in the lobby of school No. 1 during the Great Patriotic War. 328 in the Nevsky district.
The right to open the commemorative plaque was given to Tatyana Ustinova, who graduated from the educational institution Evgenia Pin, as well as Tatyana Ustinova, the daughter of the nurse Nina Ustinova, who worked at the hospital No. 252, located in the school building during the war years. Participants in the ceremony left flowers on the memorial plaque
Addressing those present, Romanov reminded that during the years of the blockade, the doctors of Leningrad managed to save hundreds of thousands of lives without having the necessary medicines and sometimes even hot water at hand.
“Blood, pain and suffering lived in this building during the siege. Inside these walls, the wounded dreamed of returning to the front to finish off the enemy, and if that was no longer possible, they were working in the rear for Victory. Now this is the field of knowledge, here our children are growing and studying, our future. Glory to the heroic doctors of Leningrad who saved the defenders of Leningrad. Glory to all who won the Great Victory 77 years ago – at the front, on the machine tool, in the oven, on the operating table. His heroism and work gave our country the future,” he said.
It was noted that the memorial plaque was erected at the initiative of the school students and with the support of the district administration. The school also has a museum that presents exhibits showing the history of the educational institution and the building in which it is located, including the war years.
