Japan allocates $100 million for humanitarian aid to Ukraine

The Japanese authorities plan to allocate another $100 million for humanitarian aid to Ukraine. TASS reports this on the basis of the NHK TV channel.

As government sources told the channel, the decision should be announced by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the upcoming meeting of the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) countries in Brussels.

Tokyo also plans to double the loan to Kiev to $200 million. In addition, Japan is considering sending medical workers to Ukraine’s neighboring countries to assist refugees.

Before that, Japan had announced that it would help Ukraine to the tune of about $100 million.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Japan to impose an embargo on trade with Russia. Zelensky said in a speech to the Japanese parliament that this country was the first in Asia to put pressure on Moscow and support sanctions against Moscow.
