Study: Sniffing other people’s sweat helps deal with social anxiety 12:12

The study included 48 women with social anxiety, some of whom were given body odor and some were not. All were treated with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.

The study found that the therapy was more effective when combined with sweat sniffing. Patients who completed therapy sessions while exposed to body odor had a 39% reduction in social anxiety, while those without body odor had a 17% reduction in anxiety scores.

Researchers believe there is something in human sweat that affects treatment, but more research is needed to confirm this link.
