The Cabinet of Ministers of Russia decided to cancel the decision on the extension of the stay in Russia of Ukrainians “living in certain regions of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine”. The relevant document is available at: legal information portal.
“The Government of the Russian Federation decides to recognize as invalid the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of December 29, 2018 No. 1744: “On the permanent extension of the temporary stay of citizens of Ukraine on the territory of certain regions of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine” says the document.
This decision enters into force from the date of publication – March 20, 2023.
Previously at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reportedthat the country may limit immigrants’ short stays to 90 days per year.
Before that, the Georgian authorities augmented The visa-free period for Ukrainians is up to two years.
