A court in Moscow has arrested for 14 days a man whose mobile phone screen saver carries the coat of arms of the Ukrainian nationalist military formation “Azov” (an organization banned in Russia). It gives information about TASS with regard to the court’s press service.
“To be found guilty of committing an administrative offense in accordance with Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (production and distribution of extremist materials), the court said.
According to court documents, 40-year-old Yury Samoilov showed the passengers of the Moscow metro the symbols “Azov” on the screen of his mobile phone. One of his companions applied to the police and the citizen was taken into custody. In court, the detainee said he adhered to an anti-Russian position. The man was sentenced to two weeks’ administrative detention.
Evgeny Roizman, former mayor of Yekaterinburg (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation), who was previously a defendant in a criminal case for discrediting the RF Armed Forces, arrested for a post on the social network VKontakte.
