Turkey says it may consider alternatives to the F-16, including Russian aircraft 06:37

Chagry Erhan, a member of the Turkish President’s Security and Foreign Policy Council, said that Turkey may refuse to purchase American F-16s and consider substitution options, including warplanes from Russia. It has been reported DEA News.

Erhan said, “I believe that after the earthquake, Turkey will give up its demand for F-16s because the cost is 20 billion dollars.”

He noted that Ankara made a mistake in asking Washington for F-16s, and that the US Congress still refuses to give it “on some pretexts”.

Erhan said, “Turkey should urgently change its decision on the F-16… There are other options such as Chinese aircraft sold to Pakistan, Russian aircraft and Eurofighters.”

On the eve of Hulusi Akar, Minister of National Defense of Turkey, will find An alternative to American F-16 warplanes if Washington refuses to sell them to Ankara.

Previously, US senators appealed to US President Joe Biden, requesting that the sale of fighter jets to Turkey be postponed until Ankara approves Sweden and Finland’s application to join NATO. Erdogan’s representative Ibrahim Kalin warned United States from linking F-16 sales to Sweden’s admission to NATO.
