Carrefour celebrates the “Alicante Products” exhibition until April 30, confirming its commitment to state products. The opening of the campaign took place at the Gran Via hypermarket and was attended by Luis Barcala, Mayor of Alicante, and Francisco López Nieto, regional manager of Carrefour in Alicante.
The initiative, which was carried out in 13 hypermarkets of the chain in the province, is emerging with the aim of promoting the economic revival of the suppliers in the region. 42 local companies with 862 references participate in the sampling.
DO Alicante commitment to winemakers
Thus, the company responds to its traditional commitment to contribute to the development of local agriculture and the agri-food industry, while guaranteeing the supply of products to its customers from each of the regions where the chain is located. In this sense, the distribution company has a cooperation agreement with Alicante DO wine producers to promote local wines in their businesses.
In the last financial year, the distribution company maintained business relations with 730 producers in the Valencian Community, amounting to more than 632 million euros. It also distributed 187,300 tons of fruit and vegetable products from this community and marketed 910,000 kilos of fish from local markets, including those in Santa Pola, Villajoiosa or Calpe.
Committed to local and regional producers, Carrefour works with a wide range of products made by companies in the region, which fuels their establishment and allows it to offer the consumer a wide, specific and quality product range.
