“In my strict assessment, it will be very difficult to return the Crimea. In fact, I am close to saying that this is impossible,” Struzhik said, adding that he sincerely wishes the peninsula to be returned to Ukraine.
The general also expressed confidence that the conflict in Ukraine will sooner or later end through negotiations and that diplomatic solutions will emerge as early as 2023. Struzhik stressed that the experience of the last decades has shown that “no war ends as we expected”.
