Russian hotel chain AZIMUT Hotels conducted a survey among residents of the country’s major cities, aiming to determine the Russians’ preferences for celebrating Valentine’s Day. socialbites.ca learned about the results.
According to the survey, the majority of respondents – 34% – celebrate the holiday according to their mood. For 23% of those surveyed, the date of February 14 is already firmly embedded in their personal holiday calendars. 18% of people like the new year and/or 8 March more, and 25% do not see Valentine’s Day as a holiday at all. 33% of those celebrating February 14 will spend it with their spouse, 28% with their girlfriend/girlfriend, 17% have not chosen a spouse yet.
For 45% of respondents, the best gift will be flowers, 23% hoping to go to a restaurant – this can be combined with a weekend in a hotel for two, which 8% of respondents dream of. 12% trust a material gift (clothes or jewellery) and 12% have yet to decide on their desires.
As for the cost of a gift, 36% of respondents are ready to spend 5-10 thousand rubles for a gift, 29% set a budget of 2-5 thousand rubles, 17% plan to exceed 10 thousand rubles, and 18% of respondents give their loved ones on this day. Do not give gifts.
