The US Navy conducted exercises where they tested two naval drones (Saildrone robotic boats) in the Persian Gulf. Popular Science reports.
During the test, the boats successfully contacted the destroyer USS Delbert D. Black and transmitted the data.
“The systems helped locate and identify objects in nearby waters and transmit visual images to observers,” the U.S. Navy said in a statement. Said.
Previously reportedthat a Saildrone drone was able to capture video at the center of giant hurricane Fiona in the Caribbean. It belonged to the fourth of the five possible categories, and the wind speed in it could reach 215 kilometers per hour.
Similar drones in September caught Iranian navy in the Red Sea. They belonged to the Fifth Fleet of the US Navy.
