Russian President Vladimir Putin is confident that now the changes are for the better. He stated this in the video message he sent to the participants of the first congress of the Russian Movement for Children and Youth (RDDM).

“Today the whole world is changing, not just in Russia. “I believe these are changes for the better.”

Putin also hopes that Russians, including the younger generation, can make the world a more just place through their actions, actions and determination, as well as clarity of their intentions, plans and principles.

The first congress of the Russian Children and Youth Movement was held in Moscow on 18-20 December at the Youth House, where the Manege exhibition hall is located. The event was opened with the slogan “The world of childhood = the world of the future”.

Nearly 1,400 people from 89 regions of Russia attended the congress. According to RIA Novosti, the press service of the movement had previously announced the participation of 200 consultants, 200 volunteers and about 2,000 guests.


The main event of the congress was the announcement of the name of the organization – “First Movement”. Voting was open and took place in the official RDDM community on VKontakte from November 18 to December 10. Anyone can vote for one of the 10 options.

A second vote has already taken place among the attendees who came to the congress. However, the new leader of the movement, Grigory Gurov, said that another voting stage should be held and urged those who did not like this name – of which there were 7 – to settle their arguments. Kommersant writes that the final vote has been postponed to 19 December.

During the congress, its activities, mission and values ​​will be determined, and the winners of the Big Changes award will be announced at the closing ceremony. Awards will be given to the most “warm, friendly, friendly and child-friendly” projects.
