Pentagon: The US will not enter an arms race in the development of hypersonic weapons 10:23

The United States does not intend to enter an arms race with other countries by developing its own hypersonic weapons. This was voiced by US Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks at a forum in Aspen. DEA News.

According to him, the United States does not plan to compete in the amount of funds spent on the development and creation of such weapons, as well as creating analogues of foreign models of equipment.

Hicks emphasized that the US has invested heavily in the development of hypersonic weapons to expand the military’s capabilities on the battlefield.

The US Deputy Secretary of Defense also noted that the Pentagon drew attention to Russia’s use of hypersonic weapons in a special operation in Ukraine.

According to him, part of the funds allocated for assistance to Ukraine is aimed at improving the American military-industrial base, which “will benefit not only the Ukrainian people in the current crisis, but also the United States in future crises.”

Hicks noted that the US analyzes the impact of the supply of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine on a daily basis to avoid depletion of its own arsenals.
