Historian: The most difficult retreat before the offensive operation of the Red Army took place 19.11.2022, 21:28

Despite the information war launched against Russia, the difficult decision to withdraw from Kherson, the Russian Ministry of Defense expects at the beginning of the special operation to attack on the territory of Ukraine less force and, according to the spirit of the Russian people, less. and the unity of society cannot be broken, opinion leaders and ordinary citizens trust the authorities in their decisive masses. This view is shared by Alexander Makushin, co-chairman of the Eastern Patriotic Foundation, and the CLIO community of historians, an expert at the Russian Military Historical Society.

The historian remembers that exactly 80 years ago, on November 19, 1942, the Red Army launched the Stalingrad strategic offensive operation “Uranus”. The troops of the Southwestern, Stalingrad and Don Fronts launched a counterattack. As a result, the Nazis’ plans for the blitzkrieg were destroyed. Stalingrad became a turning point during the Great Patriotic War.

“But before the offensive operation of the Red Army there was the most difficult retreat, the order “Do not step back” was given. But the Soviet people, despite the most difficult trials, did not panic and overthrow their forces, as the German Nazis and their accomplices expected. The same thing is happening right now, ”says the interlocutor of socialbites.ca.

According to him, attempts at information and psychological sabotage organized by the forces of the Information and Psychological Operations Centers of Ukraine (TsIPSO) did not bring results. On the contrary, the multinational Russian people came together.

Alexander Makushin also notes that in July-November 1942 the Red Army succeeded in giving a positional struggle to the enemy and forcing the Nazis to get bogged down in defensive battles. While the Wehrmacht was held in Stalingrad, the army leadership planned and organized a counterattack.

Drawing parallels with the situation in Kherson, the expert emphasizes that Russia saved the lives of tens of thousands of military personnel who could realize their war potential in more advantageous conditions by withdrawing to the left bank of the Dnieper.

“We were careful during the NWO. The offensive potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was limited by the maneuvers of the Russian troops and the DNR and LNR corps. The 80,000th assault group of the enemy, created with the help of Fuse, encountered the Dnieper, ”says Makushin.

The historian also draws attention to the fact that an attack on Russia always has serious consequences for the enemy. He proposes to remember not only the defeat of Nazi Germany, but also the deprivation of Sweden of its superpower status as a result of the Northern War, and the fate of the Napoleonic army after the campaign in Russia.
