US President Joe Biden and Senate Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer this thursday they talked about the November 8th legislative election, they didn’t realize there was a microphone.. Schumer commented on specific electoral battles in Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Georgia during a conversation with Biden as they arrived at a military base in Syracuse, New York, where the president was to deliver a speech.
As one of the senators from New York state, Schumer met Biden upon arrival and spoke with him for a few minutes on the asphalt. The duo spoke away from the press, but a microphone left open recorded the sound of the conversation. Conservative network Fox News aired the footage.
Later, shrugging his shoulders and not specifying which election battle or which state he was in, Schumer can be heard saying, “We’re in danger for that seat.” Pointing with his hands, he continues, “The debate in Pennsylvania hasn’t hurt us too much so far, so that’s fine,” he says. Schumer spoke in public with John Fetterman, the Senate candidate for the Pennsylvania Democrats. He was referring to the debate between Republican Mehmet Öz, known as Oz. Fetterman suffered a stroke just before he won the Democratic primary and had hearing and speech problems that made it difficult for Oz to respond to his constant attacks during the debate. When Biden heard that in Schumer’s view the debate was going better than expected, he responded by crossing his fingers and pointing them to the Democratic leader.
Schumer went on to say that Democrats are “gathering strength in Nevada,” citing the first Latina U.S. senator, Catherine Cortez Masto, and facing a tough re-election campaign against Republican Adam Laxalt. In the face of optimism in Nevada, Schumer offers a bleak picture of Georgia:The state where we’re going downhill is Georgia.. It’s hard to believe he’d go with Republican rival Herschel Walker (the voters) looking to take the job from Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock.
It is not yet clear whether Schumer’s comments will have an impact on the campaigns of candidates from Pennsylvania, Nevada and Georgia. As soon as the video was made public, the conservative Fox News channel placed the video in the middle of its website with the phrase “We’re in Danger” pronounced by Schumer.
